Thanks due to yesterday’s local bank holiday I have today a day off – which I will, of course (?) use to try again my luck for getting HCP 36 (or even better).
So I had to decide where to play today – either a matchplay tournament on the course of GC Schloss Kressbach (which would have been my first “real” matchplay tournament – normally I play tournaments the Stableford way and matchplay only “just for fun”) or the Stableford tournament at Nippenburg.
To make this decision a bit easier me & Yogi went last weekend to Kressbach to “have a look around”. And I have to tell you: the course sucks!
The course itself feels like you play50% downwards while the other 50% are going up again. The greens are looking like they are all build into the hillside with a felt degree of 45°. The greens itself are more or less better fairways while the fairways are better semi-roughs… sorry, but really can’t suggest this course at all. Can absolutely understand the bad reviews @ Albrecht Golf Guide…
So I decided to play again the 9 round tournament at Schloss Nippenburg – after all I played there already 1 tournament and the Stableford result wasn’t that bad (had there a total of 34 points – and if you keep in mind that you need at least 37 points to get a better handicap this result wasn’t really that bad, right?). Not to mention that the course’ conditions are, compared to Kressbach, a huge difference.
Let’s see how the tournament will go – after all I’m definetively not prepared (as always…)…
