18 fuckin’ times

Actually, there are hundreds of stories, rumours and theories Who , How and Why golf was invented.

Wikipedia says:

The origin of golf is unclear and open to debate. Some historians trace the sport back to the Roman game of paganica, in which participants used a bent stick to hit a stuffed leather ball. One theory asserts that paganica spread throughout Britain and Europe as the Romans conquered most of the continent, during the first century B.C., and eventually evolved into the modern game. Others cite chuiwan ("chui" means striking and "wan" means small ball) as the progenitor, a Chinese game played between the eighth and 14th centuries. The game is thought to have been introduced into Europe during the Middle Ages. Another early game that resembled modern golf was known as cambuca in England and chambot in France. This game was, in turn, exported to the Low Countries, Germany, and England (where it was called pall-mall, pronounced “pell mell”). Some observers, however, believe that golf descended from the Persian game, chaugán. In addition, kolven (a game involving a ball and curved bats) was played annually in Loenen, Netherlands, beginning in 1297, to commemorate the capture of the assassin of Floris V, a year earlier.

According to the most widely accepted account, however, the modern game originated in Scotland around the 12th century, with shepherds knocking stones into rabbit holes on the current site of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.

But that’s… well.. booooooooooooooooooring!

Barenaked on a Stick

Barenaked on a Stick album coverImage via Wikipedia
While I wrote my last post with the help of ZEMANTA, searching for a picture of a USB thumb drive, I saw the picture on the right.

Hmmm... Barenaked ON A STICK...?!?
Reminds me of Jeff Fah Fah Dun-ham DOT Com's loveable character Jose Jalapeno On A Stick...

Hold it right there, young man - what the heck are you talking 'bout?
Some barenaked jalapeno on a STICK?!? Are you cRaZy ?!? Have ya forgot to take your medicine this morning...?

Actually... No. Sorry pal that you might be disappointed now - but I'm not talking bout sex or similar.

Barenaked Ladies (BNL), one of the best bands from Canada (for all you Americans: that's the country in the North! Next to Illinois...) that I ever heard of, released years ago an USB thumb drive with songs of them on.

Jeff Dunham (well... I pronounce him Dun-Ham.... but anyway, that's a running gag between him and his character Peanut which sings his website jeff-dunham.com in such a great way... you really have to watch his shows!) on the other got a character named Jose Jalapeno. On a Stick.
Why "on a stick"? Coz this oversized, talking green jalapeno is not only wearing a sombrero - but, due to the fact that jalapenos don't have any arms or hands, is just on a stick.

Buttom line:
So, I was just quite surprised to see this BNL mp3 music stick - never heard of this before!
And, if I know my luck, will have quite a small chance to get it...
