Web Cams Will Stream Live Views From the Top of the Statue of Liberty

Four Torch Cams inside the flame will stream live views of Ellis Island, Governors Island, Liberty Island and the Freedom Tower, via World Webcams and will be available to the public at MyWorldWebcams.com.
The 151-foot-tall Statue of Liberty, officially titled Liberty Enlightening the World, was a gift from France to the United States on Oct. 28, 1886 to mark the centennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The national monument is a symbol of freedom, democracy and the friendship formed between France and the U.S. during the American Revolution.
The live streams will bring a new experience of Liberty Island to the millions of visitors who travel to the national monument each year. For people who want to experience a view of the statue — rather than from the statue looking out — other live streams already provide that, including this one located in Brooklyn.

Golfshot 3.0 exceeded image download limit problem
In case that you have updated your Golfshot Pro to the latest version 3.0 it might be possible that you receive following error message, when you’re going to the aerial view of your course:
The reason for this is a Google server issue – Golfshot’s developers changed the image type used for their aerial imagery to static images. For these types of images, Google enacts a daily limitation.
Golfshot says about this issue following:
[…] You daily allowance should provide more than enough for one round. Try to avoid opening and downloading imagery prior to your round to ensure you have enough for the actual round. […]
Following solution should help (again, quoting Golfshot’s eMail I received regarding this issue):
[…] Please try a hard reinstall:
Be sure to first go into Account and hit Sync in the upper right corner to save your data.
To hard uninstall the app, press and hold the Golfshot icon on your iPhone until all the icons begin to "wiggle". At this point there will be an "X" in the corner, which will remove the app from your phone. Then go into the app store on your iPhone and select Golfshot and re-download and install the app (you will not be charged again for the app).
Once Golfshot is installed press Login and enter the requisite information.
After you have logged in, the app should sync, downloading all the courses in your course regions. […]
For me this solution solved the problem so far.
Regarding the new “club track feature” I can say, as far as I was able to test it: GREAT – now it would be good to change the distance after the round, too. That’s from my point of view the only missing option…

Mission 36. Accomplished – but CSA sux
My “final” tournament was held at the Golfpark Goeppingen – offically a 9-hole tournament course where I had to play the full course twice.
As you can see – it wasn’t such a bad round, with a total score of 115 strokes and 42 Stableford points. Only thing which I don’t like are the zeros at hole #2 and #4… but at the end I ranked #1

Fans to pick Woods' video game's next cover

Tiger Woods won’t be alone on the cover of EA Sports’ next release of the “Tiger Woods PGA Tour” video game. Which golfer will join him? That’s up to the fans.
EA Sports announced Monday that the Tiger Woods game will follow in the footsteps of “Madden NFL” and “NCAA Football” in hosting a choose the cover contest on Facebook.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011
Sixteen golfers – eight Americans and eight Europeans – will be seeded in match play brackets and will face head-to-head votes on the video game’s Facebook fan page, with the American winner being featured on U.S.-released covers and the European winner gracing European-release covers. The look will be similar to the 2011 edition of the game, which pictured Woods back-to-back with Rory McIlroy in anticipation of the Ryder Cup.
"Our big point in all of this is always to keep our fans engaged in the game," said Marketing Director Craig Evans. "Think back just to this past year, when we introduced The Masters. That is something that our fans have been begging us about for the 22 years we’ve been doing the game.
"We do this all the time, in terms of ‘Hey, what do you guys want to see in the game?’ and that sort of stuff. So we thought to ourselves, let’s get them involved in the marketing, as well."
The contest will take place from Oct. 3-23 and the winners will be announced via Facebook on Oct. 24.
“You never know what will happen when you put these things out for a vote,” Evans said. “I think the Madden guys would tell you that they never would have thought Peyton Hillis would have gone on to win their contest. We all have our theories on who we think is going to advance to the different rounds, but we, at the end of the day, have no clue.”
On the American side of the bracket is Ben Crane, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Hunter Mahan, Rocco Mediate and Bubba Watson.
On the European side is Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Ross Fisher, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Edoardo Molinari, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.
Players were selected and seeded based on a combination of the Official World Golf Ranking, the FedEx Cup Rankings/Race to Dubai Rankings and "Fandom" rankings, which Evans described as a combination of Twitter followers, Facebook fans and traffic to each golfer's website.

Said to say that Martin Kaymer is (not yet) on the list... looks like Germany's best golfer is not that good as all the German magazines tell us...Related articles

Top Service
Situation was following:
the car adapter of my TomTom CarKit for iPhone was broken. So I wrote a message to TomTom, asking if it's possible to order the plug&cable directly at TomTom.
Unfortunately my gadget's warranty ran out so I had to hose this way.
A few days later I received message from TomTom, saying that they will send me 1 new charger - even my warranty expired - for FREE.
I gave them the necessary details and expected to receive the charger around 20 days later as mentioned on the corresponding website.
Around 14 days after this I receive the FREE replacement!
That's real service.

Review Golfoase Pfullinger Hof
The Pfullinger Hof is situated in an idyllic, rural surroundings at the foot of the Heuchelberg.
It’s 18-hole course is framed by vineyards and farms. The fairways, lined by fields and woods, seem natural and are integrated perfectly into the soft hilly terrain.
They demand quite a lot from golfers: longhitter skills, precision and strategic tee-offs.
After the game you can relax in the familial clubhouse.

Samsung Galaxy Tab - Thinner
The following ad shows how thin the latest SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab really is – unbelievable 8.6mm! I have pens which are thicker…
But what I really can’t understand… why the h€cK is the brat yelling “Where is MY tab?” ?!? Is it already time to buy kids such expensive gadgets, only to notice that they loose their ability to interact with other people and nature…?

Never Say Never
After all those dumb tv reports about Mallorca on German tv I promised myself: Never Ever will I visit Mallorca.
Whenever you see those “reports” from Palma de Mallorca about the Ballermann, the drunk men etc you know what I mean ;-)
So, the original "Summer Vacation 2011" plan was to go down to South Africa, visiting my friends Doug (in Johannesburg) and Scott (in Cape Town).
Unfortunately such trip costs at the moment around EUR 3k – so a little “change” was necessary.
After some discussion with wifey, we decided to go Mallorca for a short 5 day trip.

24 immutable laws of golf
LAW 1:
No matter how bad your last shot was, you should have Inner Peace knowing that a worse one is yet to come. This LAW does not expire on the 18th hole, since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tournament, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.
LAW 2:
Your best round of golf will be followed almost immediately by your worst round ever. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people you tell about the former.
LAW 3:
Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proven in the lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its attraction to water. Expensive clubs have been known to be partly made with this most unusual natural alloy.
LAW 4:
Golf balls never bounce off of trees back into play. If one does, the
tree is breaking a LAW of the universe and should be cut down.
LAW 5:
The higher a golfer's handicap, the more qualified he deems himself as an instructor.
LAW 6:
A golfer hitting into your group will always be bigger than anyone in your group. Likewise, a group you accidentally hit into will consist of a football player, a professional wrestler, a convicted murderer and an IRS agent -- or some similar combination.
LAW 7:
All 3-woods are demon-possessed. Your Mother in LAW does not come close.
LAW 8:
Golf balls from the same "sleeve" tend to follow one another,
particularly out of bounds or into the water. See LAW 3.
LAW 9:
The last three holes of a round will automatically adjust your score to what it really should be.
That’s true…
LAW 10:
Golf should be given up at least twice per month.
LAW 11:
All vows taken on a golf course shall be valid only until the sunset.
LAW 12:
Since bad shots come in groups of three, your fourth consecutive bad shot is really the beginning of the next group of three.
LAW 13:
If it isn't broke, try changing your grip.
LAW 14:
It's surprisingly easy to hole a 50-foot putt when you're lying 8.
LAW 15:
Counting on your opponent to inform you when he breaks a rule is like expecting him to make fun of his own haircut.
LAW 16:
Nonchalant putts count the same as chalant putts.
LAW 17:
It's not a gimme if you're still 4 feet away.
LAW 18:
The shortest distance between any two points on a golf course is a
straight line that passes directly through the center of a very large tree.
LAW 19:
You can hit a 2-acre fairway 10% of the time, and a 2-inch branch 90% of the time.
LAW 20:
Every Time a golfer makes a birdie, he must subsequently make a double or triple bogey to restore the fundamental equilibrium of the universe.
LAW 21:
If you want to hit a 7-iron as far as Tiger Woods does, simply try to use it to lay up just short of a water hazard.
LAW 22:
There are two things you can learn by stopping your back swing at the top and checking the position of your hands: how many hands you have, and which one is wearing the glove.
LAW 23:
A ball you can see in the rough from 50 yards away is not yours.
LAW 24:
Don't buy a putter until you've had a chance to throw it

How to spent EUR 179 in 10 minutes
Today I went to GC Monrepos golf course for visit of the golf club Demo day, held by Golfhouse, showing the latest clubs and innovations from Ping, Callaway, Cobra and all the other big brands.
Due to the fact that I felt a bit uncomfy with my Dunlop DDH putter I decided to use the opportunity for a 10% “Demo day discount” and to buy a new putter.

The Hunt continuous …

Image by Getty Images via @daylife
Again, my “Friday hunting day” wasn’t crowned with success… maybe I should have known it already while I was standing on the driving range, hitting +60 balls for a little warm-up and recognised that less than 10% of the hits were good enough to be called “golf shot”.

The Hunt goes on… HCP 36 or better today?
Thanks due to yesterday’s local bank holiday I have today a day off – which I will, of course (?) use to try again my luck for getting HCP 36 (or even better).

Domain 4 Sale
Around 2 years I registered a domain, originally for use instead of the blogspot.com domain – but as you can see this very moment my domain isn’t really active (otherwise you wouldn’t be here, right?).
A few days ago I received a message from GoDaddy.com – asking if I’m interested to sell my domain for USD 150.00
After ignoring this message, I received a new offer by GoDaddy – this time for USD 500
Well… if this would be EUR I would consider to sell for this price – but due to the fact that USD 500 is these days only EUR 349. Not really the amount that I was expected… ;-)

The Hunt for 36 in 2011
My personal golf season startet with a little shock… after only 1 1/2 years my Adidas Tour 360 3.0 decided to die at the sole – the plastic wasn’t willing to keep strong after the shoes were for several months under house detention… never expected that the shoe will die at this spot…
So, it was time for a new pair of shoes – and thanks to a special sale at Golfhouse Stuttgart I give the ADIDAS adiPure Nuovo this season a try.
And I have to say: so far they feel much better than the Tour 360 :-)
So, meanwhile I had the chance to play 2 tournaments with the new shoes – which were not really of success…
Tournament 1, “After Work” @ GC Monrepos (9-holes) – here I was at the end 32th with 35 Stableford points
Tournament 2, “Aldiana Beginner Cup” @ Schloss Nippenburg (9-holes) – here I was at the end 8th with 34 Stableford points
Two, Three strokes were missing for my new handicap – doesn’t look too bad, does it? Maybe the next tournament, after an hour with a pro, should be able to put the HCP from current 43 down to at least 40 or, which is the target for 2011, 36.
