Ab heute, 02-Jan-2012, ist das (meiner Meinung beste Angebot in diesem Bereich) blau.de 100 MB Internet Paket für 3,90 Euro nicht mehr buchbar sein.

Alle, deren Tarifoption gestern (01-Jan-2012) erneuert wurden, haben Glück – sie nutzen das 100 MB Internet Paket für 3,90 Euro entsprechend noch bis 01-Feb-2012
Ab dann geht’s, preislich gesehen, ab 4,90 Euro los…

Schade, dass blau.de diese Entscheidung getroffen hat – für mich persönlich war (und ist) blau.de einer der besten Anbieter. Gerade auch, wenn man –wie ich- weniger als 100 MB pro Monat verbraucht.

Hier die ab sofort möglichen und, bis auf Widerruf, gültigen & möglichen Internet-Flat-Tarifoptionen:

AMAZON verschenkt wieder was

Durch Zufall habe ich bei iFun.de folgende Meldung gesehen:

Abgesehen davon, dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass AMAZON seinen Kindle durch diese Aktion pusht ohne Ende (warum auch nicht? ist ja auch ein gutes Gerät), bin ich froh, dass dank entsprechender Kindle App für z.B. iPhone auch “nicht-Kindle-Besitzer” in den Genuss von kostenlosen Büchern kommt.

Mein Tipp: Laden, laden, laden – wenn’s nicht gefällt, kann’s ja immer noch gelöscht werden, kostet ja nix (ausser Zeit)…

Leider habe ich von dieser Aktion erste heute nacht erfahren – somit habe ich leider das Mega-Schnäppchen für Rosemary Sutcliff’s The Eagle of the Ninth für EUR 0.99 statt EUR 5.47 verpasst…

RPGs dieser Tage

Es ist ja nicht so, dass ich RPGs erst seit gestern am PC spiele – erinnere mich immer wieder gerne an die vielen Stunden Spielspass, die mir z.B. die Baldur’s Gate Reihe oder Neverwinter Nights Reihe gebracht haben.
Auch die guten alten Lucas’ Arts Spiele, die man im weitesten Sinne ja auch als RolePlayingGame bezeichnen kann (obwohl der Überbegriff “Point-and-Click-Adventure”) extra für erfunden wurde, sind und waren Meilensteine der PC-Spielegeschichte.

Aber, was da einem im derzeitigen heissesten Rollenspiel SKYRIM von Bethesda Softworks geboten wird, ist wirklich harter Tobak…

Bin ja schon gewohnt, dass auch RPGs in den letzten Jahren immer blutiger und brutaler worden – dank moderner Grafikkarten etc also auch mal Blut quer über den Bildschirm fliesst und Monster, Drachen etc. immer detaillreicher werden (hat hier evtl Dragon Age den “Standard” gesetzt?). Nun gibt’s in Skyrim auch eine Nebenquest mit dem Namen “Verlorene Unschuld”, die erste Mission für die Questreihe “Dunkle Bruderschaft”.

Flughafen Frankfurt erster deutscher Airport mit gratis W-LAN

Fraport optimiert das Internetangebot am Frankfurter Flughafen: Passagiere und Besucher können das Wireless Local Area Network (W-LAN) des Airports ab sofort 30 Minuten lang kostenlos nutzen.

Der neue Fraport-Service wird über das HotSpot-Portal der Telekom umgesetzt.
Nutzer sind mit wenigen Klicks online, haben Zugriff auf Ihre E-Mails und alle Informationen des Internets.

Der Flughafen Frankfurt ist der erste deutsche Airport, der W-LAN kostenlos zur Verfügung stellt.
Fraport sieht in der Einführung des kostenlosen 30-minütigen HotSpot-Angebots eine signifikante Verbesserung der Aufenthaltsqualität an Deutschlands wichtigstem Luftverkehrsdrehkreuz, die den Bedürfnissen einer zunehmend mobilen und kommunikativ vernetzten Gesellschaft gerecht wird.

Und so funktioniert der neue Service:
Nutzer starten am eigenen Gerät ihren individuellen Browser und gelangen automatisch zur Registrierungsseite, auf der ein Zugangscode angefordert werden kann.
Dieser wird per Kurznachricht auf das Handy zugestellt.
Mit dem Code kann sich der Anwender über den HotSpot der Telekom in das Internet einloggen.
Die kostenlose Nutzung des W-LAN ist einmal täglich möglich und wird nach 30 Minuten automatisch beendet.

Natürlich kann danach per Kreditkarte ein neuer Zugangscode angefordert werden.
Jede weitere Stunde im Internet kostet 4,95 Euro.

Naja, ein Anfang… aber im Vergleich mit anderen Flughäfen (z.B. Changi in Singapur) sind 30 Minuten doch etwas lächerlich – selbst bei Starbucks “in der Stadt” darf ich 2 Stunden kostenlos surfen…

Golfshot 3.0 exceeded image download limit problem

In case that you have updated your Golfshot Pro to the latest version 3.0 it might be possible that you receive following error message, when you’re going to the aerial view of your course:

The reason for this is a Google server issue – Golfshot’s developers changed the image type used for their aerial imagery to static images. For these types of images, Google enacts a daily limitation.

Golfshot says about this issue following:

[…] You daily allowance should provide more than enough for one round. Try to avoid opening and downloading imagery prior to your round to ensure you have enough for the actual round. […]

Following solution should help (again, quoting Golfshot’s eMail I received regarding this issue):

[…] Please try a hard reinstall:

Be sure to first go into Account and hit Sync in the upper right corner to save your data.

To hard uninstall the app, press and hold the Golfshot icon on your iPhone until all the icons begin to "wiggle". At this point there will be an "X" in the corner, which will remove the app from your phone. Then go into the app store on your iPhone and select Golfshot and re-download and install the app (you will not be charged again for the app).

Once Golfshot is installed press Login and enter the requisite information.

After you have logged in, the app should sync, downloading all the courses in your course regions. […]

For me this solution solved the problem so far.

Regarding the new “club track feature” I can say, as far as I was able to test it: GREAT – now it would be good to change the distance after the round, too. That’s from my point of view the only missing option…

Tiger Woods won’t be alone on the cover of EA Sports’ next release of the “Tiger Woods PGA Tour” video game. Which golfer will join him? That’s up to the fans.

EA Sports announced Monday that the Tiger Woods game will follow in the footsteps of “Madden NFL” and “NCAA Football” in hosting a choose the cover contest on Facebook.

Sixteen golfers – eight Americans and eight Europeans – will be seeded in match play brackets and will face head-to-head votes on the video game’s Facebook fan page, with the American winner being featured on U.S.-released covers and the European winner gracing European-release covers. The look will be similar to the 2011 edition of the game, which pictured Woods back-to-back with Rory McIlroy in anticipation of the Ryder Cup.

"Our big point in all of this is always to keep our fans engaged in the game," said Marketing Director Craig Evans. "Think back just to this past year, when we introduced The Masters. That is something that our fans have been begging us about for the 22 years we’ve been doing the game.

"We do this all the time, in terms of ‘Hey, what do you guys want to see in the game?’ and that sort of stuff. So we thought to ourselves, let’s get them involved in the marketing, as well."

The contest will take place from Oct. 3-23 and the winners will be announced via Facebook on Oct. 24.

“You never know what will happen when you put these things out for a vote,” Evans said. “I think the Madden guys would tell you that they never would have thought Peyton Hillis would have gone on to win their contest. We all have our theories on who we think is going to advance to the different rounds, but we, at the end of the day, have no clue.”

On the American side of the bracket is Ben Crane, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Hunter Mahan, Rocco Mediate and Bubba Watson.

On the European side is Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Ross Fisher, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Edoardo Molinari, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.

Players were selected and seeded based on a combination of the Official World Golf Ranking, the FedEx Cup Rankings/Race to Dubai Rankings and "Fandom" rankings, which Evans described as a combination of Twitter followers, Facebook fans and traffic to each golfer's website.

Situation was following:
the car adapter of my TomTom CarKit for iPhone was broken. So I wrote a message to TomTom, asking if it's possible to order the plug&cable directly at TomTom.
Unfortunately my gadget's warranty ran out so I had to hose this way.

A few days later I received message from TomTom, saying that they will send me 1 new charger - even my warranty expired - for FREE.
I gave them the necessary details and expected to receive the charger around 20 days later as mentioned on the corresponding website.

Around 14 days after this I receive the FREE replacement!

That's real service.

HP verkündet offizielle massive Preissenkung für WebOS-Produkte

Hewlett-Packard hat nun eine offizielle Preissenkung für alle WebOS-Produkte verkündet. Das HP Touchpad ist beispielsweise dadurch ab sofort ab 99 Euro erhältlich.

 

Am Wochenende hatte HP bereits die Preise für das HP Touchpad in den USA reduziert und in Deutschland erfolgte die Preissenkung am Montag. Hintergrund sind HPs Pläne, das mobile Betriebssystem WebOS aufzugeben. zu wollen. Mittlerweile hat Hewlett-Packard die Preissenkung für WebOS-Produkte offiziell bestätigt.

Schneller Service – Schnelle Leitung

Schon Wochen vor offiziellem “Baubeginn” des Ausbaus des heimischen Kabel-TVs auf "digital Kabel" war ich immer mal wieder auf der Homepage von KabelBW und in Foren wegen “Leistungsbeurteilung” etc. unterwegs.

Da ich bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt nur schlechte Erfahrungen mit “DSL per Telefon” hatte (lag aber immer an den verbauten Leitungen – manche Häuser aus den 70er Jahren sind halt noch mit “Altmetall” bestückt) und die Telekom es bis heute nicht geschafft hat, das Netz hier vor Ort zu modernisieren, entschied ich mich ohne Bedenken für CleverKabel 20 (= 20 MBits/Sek.).

Mittlerweile war dieser Tarif durch "CleverKabel 25" zum gleichen Grundpreis ersetzt wurden – jedoch wird man über sowas als “Altkunde” natürlich nicht informiert ;-)

Da ein “Tarifwechsel” (auch mit gleicher Grundgebühr) immer einen neuen 24-Monats-Vertrag im Schlepptau hat, hatte ich mich aber nicht richtig zum “upgrade” entscheiden können.

Das ist mittlerweile Schnee von gestern - am 27.Nov habe ich auf CleverKabel 25 gewechselt, welches am gleichen Tage geschaltet wurde.

 

Aber nur, um in einem Forum zu erfahren, dass ab 01.Dez  CleverKabel 32 (für immer noch den gleichen Grundpreis) eingeführt werden würde.

Also am Sonntag gleich nochmal gewechselt… leider an die falsche eMail geschrieben... heute angerufen, Status abgefragt, richtige eMail-Adresse bekommen – und laut Hotline soll das ganze auch in den nächsten Stunden schon aktiv sein (die müssen ja nur ‘nen “Schalter umlegen”).

Da muss ich echt sagen: super Service – kenne ich von 1&1 und anderen ganz anders.

Nintedo Wii – externe Tastatur

Da ich zwar erst kurz ein Besitzer der Wii bin, in der Zwischenzeit aber in diversen Foren (und auch bei Amazon) Fragen bzgl EXTERNER TASTATUR für die Wii gefunden habe, will ich auch mal “bei mir zuhause” meinen Senf dazugeben ;-)

F: Ist es möglich, eine richtige Tastatur, wie man sie vom PC gewohnt ist, an die Wii anzuschliessen ?

A: JA, das ist möglich.

Möglichkeit 1
Die “gute alte” USB-Tastatur – einfach hinten das USB Kabel an die Wii stecken und fertig. Diese Tastatur bekommt man schon für unter EUR 10
Evtl ist das Tastaturkabel zu kurz - aber dann holt man sich eben die Wii etwas näher, immherin sind deren Kabel ja doch nicht so kurz...

Möglichkeit 2
Man holt sich das offizielle Logitech Wii Wireless Keyboard, das kostet aber dann auch gut und gerne EUR 60 - hat aber wohl den Vorteil, dass dieses auch am PC und der PS3 verwendet werden kann (siehe den entsprechenden Kundenkommentar).

Wer bei seiner persönlichen Suche die Nintendo Wii - Tastatur für Wii Gamepad von Logic3 trifft, sei sich vor Kauf aber darüber klar, dass diese Tastatur nicht QWERTZ (= deutsch) sondern QWERTY (= englisch) ausgelegt ist.


So, und wer jetzt nicht weiss, wo er "seine" Tastatur findet, für den gibt's eine kostenlose Runde auf dem Karussell ;-)

Schon gewusst… wer sich die aktuelle rote Jubiläums-Wii (z.B. bei AMAZON für EUR 178.99 ) kauft und dann die Wii selbst und die 2 enthaltenen Spiele Wii Sports und New Super Mario Bros. Wii entsprechend im Club Nintendo registriert, bekommt total 1750 Punkte (bei Nintendo heissen diese Punkte “Sterne”).

Diese Sterne kann man gegen Klingeltöne, Aufkleber, Hardware oder auch Nintendo Points eintauschen.
Mit diesen Nintendo Points ist es möglich, sich direkt neue Spiele auf die Wii aus dem Internet zu laden.

Gerade gesehen, dass irgendwer sich über meine AMAZON Links ein tolles Notebook gekauft hat – das ACERr Aspire 7740G-624G50Bn 17.3 Zoll mit Blue-ray für knapp EUR 845.00
Leider hat der Käufer das Notebook wieder zurückgeschickt… ob das die richtige Entscheidung war? Immerhin kostet das Gerät jetzt Stand heute EUR 1061.94



Wobei ich mir allerdings nicht diesen grossen Preissprung nach oben erklären kann... *grübel*

Aber vielleicht war's ja ein Mann, der von seiner Frau die magischen Worte "Hast du schon Pampers gekauft?!?" gehört hat... ;-)

It’s been some time

… since I’ve made here any updates – sorry for that!
But the last few weeks I was quite too busy with my new love – GOLF ;-)

So, what happened exactly the last 2 months?

IT things…
Finally updated / upgraded my iPhone 3GS to the iOS 4.0.1 incl the JB – thanks for this again to the DevTeam.
These guys are GREAT!
Would never use an iPhone w/ out some JB-features (SBSettings is IMHO smth that should be implemented officially by Apple – this is one of the best JB-features ever!).

At the same time my 1TB external HDD died … *sob sob* lost all my vids, pics & mp3 :-(
Acc to Maxtor / Seagate they only change the HDD with a new one – but no data-recovery :-( this will cost what? EUR 1k acc to several webistes? Have to find here a solution somewhere else…

Found these days a real cool tip how I, living outside the US, would be able to watch HULU – but after the first try, which was a real success, this trick doesn’t work anymore… :-(  Looks I have to *Shhhhh…. don’t tell* return to the torrents to watch “my” US-shows…

Did you knew that TRAVELPOD started a new cool feature, called TRIPWOW ?!?
I didn’t until someone posted a comment on one of my pods…

Golf things…
Me gets better and better in this “game”… or is it a lifestyle? A philosophy? Don’t know… but I love this game :-D
Was even able to get a better handicap – now I’m no longer a 54-starter player but a 51-player ;-)
One of those golf forum guys I know also in person participated at the same tournament than me – he was able to get HCP 36 at this tournament while I haven’t improved any. Believe it or not – when we met at the 19th hole he was more or less masturbating on his scorecard coz He Is The Man… sorry – but that’s sick.
Only coz he was having one good day where he was able to make such a big handicap improvement doesn’t mean he’s a better golfer… when I take a look at my private rounds I know that my un-official handicap is also 36 (and better).

Following chart will give you also a rough & quick impression about my golfing progress… doesn’t look that bad – if you keep in mind that I’m playing golf now for less than 1 year, right? ;-)

 

 

Most on this sport I like is the fact that I can fully relax – going on a 6 to 7 km walk, hitting some white balls from time to time, having a chance to see really nice landscape & animals… it’s really a good way to “get rid of office stress”.

Back on Friday I was told that I have the “permission” to go to an exhibition down in J’Burg in October – by my own!
Looks like 10 years in this company are finally worth the trouble and grey hairs ;-)
And, if everything’s going smooth and Doug is willing / in the mood to, I’ll be also able not only to be there for work but also for 1 or 2 rounds of golf in South Africa – have heard the courses there are GREAT… *keke*

Seit mehreren, ja, man muss schon sagen, JAHREN bin ich zufriedener SIPGATE Nutzer. Dieses “ich habe meinen Festnetzanschluss weltweit dabei” finde ich gut.

NAVIGONs Live Traffic auf dem iPhone

Nach vielem Hin- und Herüberlegen, lesen unzähliger Tests, Reviews, Diskussionsforen und einer Menge YouTube-Videos habe ich mich dazu entschieden, meine liebgewonne “Doris” auf dem PocketLoox T810 von iGo durch “Doris 2.0” auf dem iPhone von Navigon zu ersetzen.
